Grades 1-5

The FIS concept at the primary level offers an engaging, child-centred and inclusive educational experience that is based on equity, creativity and holistic development. Our approach is deeply rooted in the Finnish education model, focusing not only on academic success but also on nurturing students' well-being.

Playful Methods

We consider play an integral part of learning. Playful methods are implemented in classrooms. Students also have regular opportunities for supervised free play and outdoor activities, both during recess and as part of the curriculum, promoting social interaction and physical well-being.

We employ versatile working methods to foster students' joy of learning and experiences of success. Through collaborative learning approaches, we aim to develop students' social, cognitive, and problem-solving skills, preparing them for active participation in the world.

The joy of learning

Rich learning environment

We believe in providing students with a rich learning environment that extends beyond academic subjects. Our curriculum focuses on skill development, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of concepts.

Continuous formative assessment is a key aspect of our educational approach. By observing students' daily work, we provide students and parents with realistic and up-to-date information about academic progress and working skills.

Continuous formative assessment

Life-long learners

At FIS Primary, our goal is to cultivate lifelong learners who are equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in an ever-changing world.
